Thermal Degasser System

MESANN Thermal Degasser

Free Oxygen (O2) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gases dissolved in the boiler feedwater cause damage to the metal surfaces of the boiler and steam system. To remove these corrosive gases from the feedwater, the feedwater is separated into small droplets and heated with steam, causing the CO2 to evaporate at 60°C and the O2 to evaporate above 100°C. In a conventional thermal degasser system, the process of separating the feedwater into small droplets is done by a sprinkler system.

To prevent evaporation and cavitation at the feedwater pump suction point, the water level in the degasser must be at least 6 m above the pump suction inlet.
